The first two canyons are in the Grapevine Mountains.  The one with the spring is here:  36.89663, -117.26927

Easy to reach unless you want to go into the upper section like I did.  In that case you'll need to scramble up some drainages to get onto the rim.  But it's not too steep and the footing is overall pretty good.

I guess you could instead plow through the thick grass, but snakes will be coming out of hibernation soon so...

Thanks. Isn't that Moonlight Cyn? I spooked some short eared owls there as well.

It's close.  Moonlight is the much larger canyon immediately south.
