Wildrose from Panamint w/ Trailer? - MojaveGeek - 2022-10-30

Posting for a dear friend, who wonders if he can get into the valley that way pulling a 19 foot trailer.  I've never towed so I don't know.  Thanks for any hints.

No, it would be illegal. Lower Wildrose Road and Emigrant Canyon Road are restricted to a total vehicle length including trailers of less than 25 ft. See here:

That road has a lot of tight twists and turns. Towing a trailer would be very difficult.  Hence, the closure for trailers.

To close the loop, my friends did drive up the Wildrose road, and said they had no trouble and "hardly noticed" the tight curves. I had advised them that it would be illegal but... I suspect others are also towing stuff up that road.

Any scuttlebutt on when Towne Pass might open? Is there work going on?

Oh for sure. I also see dogs off leash at the Racetrack and drones in the 4x4 sections of the Park, none of which inconvenienced their owners whatsoever either. Super disappointed to hear that.

Nor am I advocating breaking any rules... Just responding to this thread as folks were kind and gave me quick answers to pass on to the friends.

We did the road a couple of weeks ago. Not too bad damage lower Wildrose but not sure if I'd do that with our 20' Tundra and 20' R Pod with those curves.
Town Pass should be open by mid November.

Ayup, I think Daylight Pass and Beatty Cutoff reopened today. Towne Pass should be imminent?
