Is DV Dazed here yet? Does he know about it?! He was the most active member of D-V.net for quite awhile, hopefully he will come on over.
Special Thanks to Netllama!

DV Dazed may have been a casualty of the quick shutdown. I sent him a message with the new forum link on his YouTube site.

It sounds like he has email addresses for other forum members who may have missed the forum changes, and will be contacting them (which is great!). But since the old forum is now effectively shut down, anyone who isn't already aware of the replacement forum is going to have a hard time finding it, at least in the short term. I did post messages on Panamint Valley & DVTalk forums to let people know what's going on. Great!! Hopefully your posts on PV.net and DVTalk will help DV.net forum members find the new forum! I added a link to this forum on my website homepage, just in case anyone stumbles across it when looking for the old forum.

DVTalk has indeed been quiet. And, admittedly, the format is different from most bulletin boards. But, I see no sense in having completely identical boards devoted to Death Valley, so it all seems to work, despite the small amount of traffic. One thing is certain: it is far more civilized than in prior iterations.

LOL Interesting that deathvalley.com has been excluded from the "Internet Wayback Machine" at archive.org... Though the old posts are still accessible at the "Archive" link at the new DV Talk. Nice, I see we now have our own banner at the top of the page.

One thing is certain: it is far more civilized than in prior iterations. Ain’t that the truth! It is the only time I was threatened online and I had to stand my ground. The contention on the old Talk board, along with the difficult to follow flow chart thread structure were the reasons I went over to and stuck with Bighorn and DV.us nearly two decades ago.

Thank you for saving such a valuable research resource.
Myself and no doubt, many others, are very appreciative! |
