Union Pacific "Big Boy"
#1
Union Pacific's historic steam locomotive, X4014, came to Winnemucca July 8, 2024 to tie up overnight. X4014 is the largest operating steam locomotive in the world. It's currently heading westbound to Roseville, CA via the Feather River line, then return to Cheyenne, WY later in the month. A friend of mine - a retired lifelong railroad employee for first Southern Pacific, then later UP - and I went to see it. Here is a 3.5 minute video I took of the train at Winnemucca.

More info on the schedule of the train is at https://www.up.com/heritage/steam/schedule/index.htm

Very impressive, thank you. I liked the part where the diesel engine went by; looked like two diesels were the length of the one steam engine.
