Eagle Spring (or Birch Spring), Telescope Peak

Anybody here ever attempted to hike to the headworks of the Skidoo Pipeline at Birch Spring? This is at the head of Jail Canyon. Very little of the pipeline construction trail appears to still exist, so my thought is that it would be easier to hike in via Eagle Spring off the Telescope Peak trail. I know Eagle Spring is dry, but has anyone here been even there? I'm curious how the terrain is. Looks impossibly steep up there in the headwaters of Jail Canyon.

An acquaintance of mine did around 1994 or 1995. I don’t remember much of the details. I do recall he found remains of the pipeline intake system.
