Pretty image. Until you realize just how much light pollution there is out there. I’m not certain of the direction, but Vegas and SoCal light up the skies at night.

The photographer claims that later he followed up on Google Earth triangulating where his tripod was, The Pinnacles and the background light came from Barstow? I suppose that is possible?

It's 50 miles from the Pinnacles to Barstow. Barstow is the glow on the horizon.

We drove by the Pinnacles about a thousand times, but never stopped to check them out. A great omission.
