Four day traverse of Death Valley
#1
Cameron Hummels, 43, did an unsupported, 113 mile, north-south traverse of Death Valley in 4 days.

Today's L.A. Times has the story:

As a subscriber, I didn't have any trouble reading the article. I don't know if the link is good for non-subscribers.

That link worked well and the story is amazing. It appears that with every peak conquered and most wilderness explored all there is left to do is repeat other feats of adventure and endurance but do it faster. To each their own.

For me I see no value in hiking your ass off all night while hallucinating and not being able to slow down and enjoy the night sky or jog across the valley without stopping and enjoying the environment. This is what is great about DEVA. Everyone has their individual purpose in visiting the park.
