My extended DV stay
Hey, thanks for taking us with you and providing hours of entertainment on the forum with your TRs. Really fun to read. Wish I were as tough as you! In my younger days... maybe, just maybe. Agree about the view from Borax BM; it is one of the best down there. And you got good light on the Blue Mountain - isn't that just an amazing color??

Where is the wind taking you next?

North.   Though I have a date with Mt. Whitney in mid- July so I'll be back in the area in a couple months. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the huge snowpack doesn't ruin those plans. It would be just my luck to win the permit lottery and then not be able to complete the dayhike.

We had to cancel our usual winter backcountry stuff. Everything is too avalanchey and access is even harder than usual. On the other hand we had a longer than usual desert season.
I expect to have the ice axe out well into august this year, wich I dont mind, snow is way superior to scree.

Ha, I agree with that sentiment! I usually do a summer rotation of July in Montana (lower peaks melt out first)
, August in the eastern Sierra, and September in Washington - coast and south Cascades. I pushed the first two back one and two weeks respectively, though, due to massive snow. I heard that the Tioga Pass road may not open until July.
