East of Scotty's Castle Road cutting through the rusty red foothills is Kit Fox Canyon through which the Rhyolite-Skidoo Road once ran. Along the road was stretched a phone line of the same name. Count the vintage telephone poles as you hike through the canyon to the base of The Death Valley Buttes and return via the south ridge of the canyon back to Scotty's Castle Road.
