On a cool, crisp, and clear February 28,2022 a sunset drive and hike the backroad to Chloride City exiting Highway 374 at the east entrance to Death Valley National Park heading south across the flats, ridges and buttes until the road intersects Monarch Canyon Road and Chloride City Road where my Subaru Crosstrek is parked and hike the rest of the way to the crest of Chloride with expansive views of Rhyolite, Mount Charleston, The Funeral Mountains, The Black Mountains, The Panamint Mountains, The Sierra Nevada including Mount Whitney, The Cottonwood Mountains and the Grapevine Mountains. Conclude with a shot of Chloride from The Beatty Cutoff.
