Thanks for posting the pix of the yootprints. I'm a bit confused about the "yarnyard" reference, I thought it was a canyon with a metallic name, maybe there are multiple places or my memory is getting "yossilized" as well! Don't know if I'll ever catch them in person, so appreciate the pix.
There's a spot somewhere on the Amargosa side that I recall seeing some cool pix from, decent cross valley hike to get to, I'll have to see if I can dig up any info on it for my March trip.
Though with the new rain... the odds of roads currently closed getting opened is probably small as there will certainly be maintenance needed after this and the next rain.
Looking at the map yesterday I was surprised that the Keane road is closed. Probably at a spot where the wash crosses the road at a low point. It's nice walking in there when the road is closed, though, so if it is still closed when I'm there, I'll go in. Road to Keane, then the old trail over to Johnny Cyty, then out the wash, nice loop, not very strenuous.. though could add in King Midas for more exercise.
