71 year old died in 121F heat yesterday (July 19):

Steve Curry hiked Golden Canyon to Zabriskie Point. He was interviewed there by an LA Times reporter. He refused offers of assistance and did the return hike collapsing in the Golden Canyon parking lot. Someone with cell service called 911. A ground crew attended him to no avail. The hot air was too thin to risk a helicopter flight. What was he thinking?
