Hurricane Hilary's Effect On Salt Creek
#1
I checked out the main portion of Salt Creek on the afternoon of April 1, 2024 and was astounded at the power of the February 2024 storm flow that re-routed the stream channel and devastated the walk way, trail, parking, and toilet. The road to Salt Creek was closed so I hiked in from Highway 190. The survey stakes are punched into the landscape which I assume are for foundations for the new walk way - board walk.

That is very interesting, thanks for posting it. I had half a mind to go down there on our March trip but then it got too hot to be on the valley floor. It looks like all the vegetation around the lower part of the boardwalk was just ripped away. Did you try to walk upstream? I sort of looks so. Do you think you could still get north to McClane Spring? It is a bit hard to tell in such a wasteland.
