Arrow Weed - Devil's Cornfield - Duh, me!
#1
I happened upon an article online about Highway 190 as it transects DEVA and noticed that it ID'd The Devil's Cornfield which is covered by "Arrow Weed." I can't believe that in spite of my many pleasant visits to the corn field on both sides of Highway 190 that I never bothered to find out what the proper name of the plant is. Duh, sometimes I'm so dense regarding DEVA.  Blush

Here's a cool link that shows how prevalent Arrow Weed is in So Cal which is also a surprise to me. Anyway, I'm glad it's not endangered or threatened. BTW, I've never seen Devil's Cornfield in any stage of bloom. Maybe I missed it when I was there for the super bloom a few years ago?
Next I pass through I'm going to stop and spend some time really looking closely to see if I can find any of the three types of butterflies/moths that frequent the plants.
