Shorty's Grave: The Other One
#1
I've been thinking of a way to contribute to the preservation of Death Valley history, and I recently found out that Shorty Borden (1877-1962) is buried in an unmarked grave in East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop, CA.  So, I was thinking it might be nice to have a headstone placed there for him.  I called the cemetery and they said one could be placed there.  After a little research, about $630 ($500 for stone and $130 to the cemetery to install it) would get a modest marker, 24x12x4.  Once placed, I would let the park service know so they could add it to their literature, etc.

$630 is a bit much for me to justify to my wife for something like this, so I was wondering if any other Death Valley nuts might like to contribute toward it.  Will publish this in other places also.
