Steve Hall put this message on his web site.  Thank you, Steve, for all that you did for Death Valley and the people who love it.

Notice: Our site will be taken down from the internet on May 2, 2021.  Thank you for the memories during the past 15 years of exploring DVNP.
I do not understand why someone would put so much love and effort into a venture like panamintcity.com, only to take it down.

Same. I don't think logic or rational thought applies here.
Keep in mind that Steve is a two time cancer survivor with a wife and young child.  As a cancer survivor myself, I know firsthand how perspective can change.  Just because you survived cancer doesn't mean that your problems are over.  I had radiation and chemotherapy in 2005.  Long term after effects put me in the hospital for 13 days last November.  Do not cry over what we are losing.  Rejoice over what we had.

So ... a personal choice? Kudos to Steve, it was a hell of a run.

If anyone needs a particular piece of info off his site in the future feel free to shoot me a message.
Steve Hall recently posted this video which may lend some insight into why he's taking down panamintcity.com? It appears that Steve will keep his YouTube channel active.

Gotta respect the man for how much he's accomplished so far!
Well, site is still active.

Probably because his site doesn't use Sagebrush Hosting & Daniel Dull (dezdan).

Gone now.
Yep, all gone now. End of an era of sorts.

If anyone is looking for the information archive.org seemed to keep up with most of it over the years including the photos in his trip based reports. It seems to perhaps have missed some of his route maps though.

Once again thanks to Steve for having shared so much great information over the years. A couple of years ago I did the Smoke Tree Slots he discovered and what a wonderful treasure that is.
