December 2021 while visiting Death Valley National Park I met twelve young people from the state of Virginia who flew across the country to assist in the removal of dead palm trees around the Furnace Creek Visitors Center. I also spoke with a Park Ranger who was promoting a "lab ranger program" to get kids more engaged in the science of Death Valley.
Wow, that's pretty damn cool.
