Wow! Thimble is way more photogenic up close. Nice.

Of course your legs were complaining. What's your 3-day total? Leaning, Scruge (with Red Wall bonus), and Thimble with a road closed... Gotta be around to 40mi & over 8000ft gain.

I need to go hike lower Titus and check out the damage.

Did you do the math?  If not, amazingly close guess.
39.6 miles, 8072 feet.

I considered going up thimble from the lower Titus entrance so I could see the canyon.  But it's about the same distance as from daylight, and way more gain.
Haha. Ballparked as I’ve hiked down from Dry Bone, did Scruge with you, and you posted this one. Didn’t think I’d be that freaking close tho. Haha.
Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to explore Titus this trip (would have loved the solitude and to examine the carnage), but we did see your 4Runner parked on the way out of the Park while you were doing Thimble so guess we'll consider that a win. Really impressive elevation and mileage for those three hikes!
Ski3pins is also in the valley, has been for a few days now.
Great time to have solitude on Thimble! Though I've been up twice (from Red Pass) and saw no one on either day. It is a nice peak and a good trail. So how close did you pass to Willow Spring? I'm thinking about going back to Titanothere Peak, also from Daylight Pass, and the mile leading up to Willow looks like a lot of cross ridge walking. I went over to Willow 30 years ago and I enjoyed the views over the Amargosa, but don't have much of a memory for conditions.

Again, thanks for posting, getting my blood moving as I start to work out plans for my own spring trip.

I got close to willow spring but didn't check it out. It's about 3.5 miles of hiking from the pass to Willow spring.

I recommend sticking to the wash as much as the brush allows.  If you don't, you'll be hiking up and down a multitude of small ridges.  You'll have to do some of that regardless.

Here is a photo of my recent tracks which I think shows the path of least resistence.

Thanks for those tracks, will come in handy. And I see you've been on the other peaks near Daylight Pass. They have been on my list for ages but somehow have not made it up yet. We went to Titanothere 4 years ago (from Red Pass) and I really liked the peak and the use trail along the rocky spine. Helped to see a couple of sheep at the summit.

What did you climb on the other side of Daylight Pass? Pk 5064 most likely? I looked at your peakbagger ascent list and I didn't see it. But damn, you've done a bit of climbing! I've been on only a small fraction of those, amazing.

Yes.  There's a park boundary benchmark at the summit.  It's not the most exciting climb.  If you were looking for a short one, Daylight peak has a short but nice rocky summit area with good views.

Thanks. Useful info.
