Video - White Mountain City, CA Ghost Town - DAW89446 - 2022-10-06
Two videos combined into one, both taken in 1997. White Mountain City is located in Deep Springs Valley, north east of Big Pine.
In the first segment, I was accompanied by a friend from Bishop, Howard, who then was retired and a volunteer with Inyo National Forest. Howard died a few years back well up in his 80s. The second trip I was accompanied by Chuck, a historian, who had been to White Mountain City before and had shown me the location of two nearly intact arrastras, which are featured here. I’ve found several more in the years since.

Interesting. I was up there a few years earlier. Spent the night, IIRC, on the way up into the mountains.
