The map is still green. North Hwy is removed from the list of closed roads. Things are looking better by the minute.

The old Morning Report! How I miss that. We'd walk down to the SPW main office every morning before heading out on our hike for the day, to check the upcoming weather predictions. I think I still have a collection of old paper copies of the Morning Report somewhere in a box. Nostalgia...

I am trying to navigate my way through contradicting information as well. Looking to see if anyone has intel regarding Butte valley - Warm Springs Road? The NPS site's map shows "No access to warm springs camp" in Warm Springs canyon, but it is absent from the closure list.

They removed north highway from the text closed section. I guess that means its open?

Welp guess my list of potential hikes just doubled.

All dirt roads are the Wild West. They’re all soft open/closed. NPS has been focused on pavement. But every road has been well traveled by 4wd.

As far as I know Butte Valley is wide open.

For those members too new to DV to have seen the Morning Report, here are some samples. It was discontinued when a former superintendent got the nervous nellies about something or the other.
