500 miles west of Africa: Cabo Verde - netllama - 2023-04-29

Earlier this month, I spent 8 days exploring the nation of Cabo Verde (my 23rd African nation). Its a former Portuguese colony, about 500 miles west of Senegal, in the Atlantic, comprised of 10 islands. I spent time on three of the islands, Santiago (which has the capital, Praia), Santo Antao & Sao Vicente. The highlights were riding a motorbike up into the mountains, several shorter hikes, and a full day (~11 mile) hike along the coast, plus a lot of amazing seafood and rum.

Here are some of the photo highlights from the trip:

Ah, been wondering where you've been Smile

When I view your trip reports, the text is grey. The headings (like "Day 1") are black, but the body text grey. I think it may be in the CSS as I can watch it load with simple black text, but then some formatting kicks in and it turns grey. Is that intentional? It makes it much harder (for me) to read.

Anyway, this looks like a pretty cool place!

What kind of browser are you using? Is this mobile or desktop?

Desktop. Chrome under Windows 7. It is less grey but still thin under firefox. I can check on my win 10 laptop later if that would be useful.

Thanks, that's enough info. I'll look into it when I have some time.

Wow, that's some rugged country and the road work is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Yea, i'd say 85% of the roads are stone, and all 3 islands that I visited were rugged, dry mountains. It wasn't quite as much fun when hiking on that surface though.

I tweaked the CSS a bit, so it should be easier to read now. Let me know if you agree.

Yes, it's better, thanks! I do enjoy reading your detailed TRs, both for places I know and places I don't. Given your travels, more of the latter I must say Smile
