I wish the NPS/forest service/BLM had something more effective than those fiberglass posts.  They're remarkably bad at stopping idiots from following existing tracks.  At least in this case there won't be any ATV drivers.  Maybe it will work long enough for the track to dissappear.

The huge barricades really ruin the landscape. I understand why they had to build something so huge at the Racetrack but it really uglied up a beautiful place. Sad that it’s necessary.

Maybe they need to upgrade to the security stuff I remember from DC: like those cylinders that pop up out of the ground and ruin your car if you go over the sensors.

Cool. Having just spent most of December in southern Arizona, I am not starting to focus on planning for our March DV trip. Your travels also stimulate my thoughts!
