Anza Borrego (without a jeep) - Daymoth - 2024-12-24

We are getting ready for our winter week off and still dont know if after DV we will go towards Utah or maybe go south and check out Anza Borrego.

We have never been and I am a bit overwhelmed with the state park website. If anyone has suggestions for fun desert exploring over 2-3 days that can be accessed with an AWD SUV I would be supper grateful. Or suggestions on good websites.

Thanks and happy holidays!!

wow, its been ages since I went down to Anza Borrego. like maybe 15+ years. That said you can definitely explore a lot of the park with an AWD SuV (I did it in a VW Passat, if you can believe it).

From memory, I got out to the badlands (camping too), the wind caves, and palm canyon with zero issues.

I've got a bunch of photos over here if you're interested

Is the kiddo you? Smile
We are on our way, the lady I spoke to from the visitor center sounded very confident I will be fine with AWD, hope I dont get stuck in sand. We will then loop to DV for a quick visit.
