Thanks for the info, jesportland. I've camped both of those spots before you mentioned – good info. Greenwater Valley Road further back has some nice options. When I crashed once at the top of the road opposite Ashford Mill it was an okay spot but I remember it being pretty rocky and not the best for truck / camp setup.

Beardilocks – West Side Road really would be great if we had a little more time and weren't coming in from the north / if the damn north end of the road was open. Looking forward to hearing about your current adventures in DVNP. Any idea how long you're going to be down there? Was about to say "maybe we'll see you again" but we're two months out from our trip.

I’m guessing the north end of WS Rd will open soon. I watched a couple of Jeeps illegally cross it from my vantage point high on Trail Cyn last week. They got thru easy and must have jumped the gate at Badwater Rd just like they jumped the barrier at the base of Trail.

Also they graded WS Rd from Warm Springs turn-off to Johnson while I was up Trail/Hanuapah, so I would wager that that means they’re close.

Not sure of my plans at this stage. Might leave and come back. If I’m in the area when y’all get here I’ll def let you know.
