Stripped Butte Valley AGAIN
#1
We are down in Laughlin to see a few shows, then I'm leading a day trip into Gold Butte (deep/all day) and then my old high school buddy is coming out from the midwest to thaw out.  He says he sees my adventures/misadventures on the social media all the time and he wants in on the action.  So where do I take someone so they get the biggest bang for their buck?  Stripped Butte Valley via Warm Springs.  A day and half, one night there.  Out over Mengel and see all of Goler.  Then into Ballarat to say hi to Liz and the crew.  Depending on snow levels maybe up Pleasant Canyon or South Park for another night out.  Then across the way into the Argus Range for one last night before heading to Vegas for steaks, a show and maybe a drink.

I'm not saying Butte Valley is my go to or anything, but Guy Starbuck (he explores a bit) once asked why he sees my name in the logbooks there so much. Smile

I'll wrap that up just in time to head back to Ibex for a second try at that hike.

Then it's just a blur - I'm back at Easter Jeep Safari this year, attending the East Mojave Trek at Goffs and the Overland Expo in Flagstaff.  Several little trips in between.

Retired life is pretty exhausting.

I never made my way to Butte Valley in my first 15+ years of exploring the Park – no clue why, honestly – but since then it has become a favorite spot.

Hope you catch some great weather and that the trek into Ibex goes better than last time!

Might get a little rain.  I'll have to keep my eye on it as we get closer.

I've got my eye on that as well. But I'm heading to Eureka I think.

As of a couple of hours ago they were calling for 1.75" of rain in Big Pine and a little less in Lone Pine. Only about .4" in SPW. Less further south where you would be.

It's def going to mess up the big President's Day weekend gathering in Saline for all those folks.
