It was a long, unpleasant evening. I did have a couple off brand pepto tabs in my first aid kit that helped. Bad night in the back country is far better than any day at work.

Mostly.

It's all good. I explored some of the Ibex area and I was able to reschedule to a time that my granddaughter can join me. I also know that the roads are good enough to support arriving in the morning and not camping overnight, which should result in better rest. And from my campsite I was able to scan the first part of the hike with binoculars so I have a better understanding of what's in store. Besides not getting any sleep and wondering if I might die in the back of my Jeep, it was a useful trip.

Scheduled to return with my granddaughter to the remote mine near Ibex on Saturday. Info from prior trip shows the road is good the whole way to our hike starting point so we will just leave home early that morning and make a day trip out of it. A couple other folks who were penciled in already bailed. Guess it's just the 2 of us. I'm gonna try and sign up for a pic hosting service so I can post some pics here.

If you have a free Gmail or Google account, you already have 16 gigabytes free space to put photos and video. I use that for my stuff that I share online.

Yes it is unfortunate that you have to use a pic hosting service. Some forum software includes such storage. That way the pix last forever, long after someone leaves and deletes their accounts. But it would require potentially unlimited storage on our server to make it happen. I would post more pix when I'm on the road if I didn't have to get enough connectivity to upload them some place first.

Uhhhhhhh, why is early morning so EARLY? Headed into the Ibex area to hike with my granddaughter. Hope to have boots in dirt by 0830 or 0900. This is supposed to be a really good one.
