C'mon folks, this is obviously a specially designed hook to catch trophy sized Pup Fish. It was forged prior to Death Valley being designated a national monument. Death Valley Scotty sponsored fishing tournaments and rented boats to sail down Salt Creek all the way to Lake Manly. Scotty's fingerprints are still visible on the flat part if you zoom in close enough.  /s
