I’ll just say that positioning on a bench slope, in sight of but not near, any of the old tracks out there was curious. Not a location I can imagine anyone taking a car or wagon. Horseback? Possibly. So the physical location was part of the mystery. Assuming a packrat didn’t haul it off from god knows where 100yrs ago.

I agree it looks cast not forged. And Brice’s reverse image search was closer than anything else I’ve seen.

Mystery remains until someone with appropriately weird specific knowledge comes forth.
