Ten Days In DEVA - Volume 2
#1
Wink
Volume 2 contains seven videos of varied adventures during my December 2021 visit to Death Valley. Sorry, but there is a volume three in the works.  Tongue

Enjoy some short random clips of drive by scenes around Death Valley and outskirts. Besides gorgeous scenes lighted by soft winter sun rays is one coming upon a nasty roller accident scene and another CHP ticket pullover. Well, at least I wasn't involved in any drive by shootings!  Rolleyes

If you thought those damn deflated mylar balloons that festoon the wilderness of Death Valley are awful get a load of the latest craze of tacky plastic inflatable Xmas displays now polluting our visual landscapes. Thanks to Eddie's World in Beatty, Nevada for going beyond the call of tacky duty.

Take a causal stroll out to Palm Spring and Triangle Spring just west of Scotty's Castle Road. You'll cross two older road remains on your way and discover a resting spot serving as one of the best sunset views in all of Death Valley.

Drive through Beatty, NV to check out two new eating establishments, The remodeled Exchange Club, buy a Tiny Home and tour the airport.

For years I've been curious as to what Death Valley visitors discovered when they parked along Highway 190 north of Cow Creek and west of The Three Bare Hills and strolled out into the brown and white flats with shimmering reflections of the surroundings. Grab a pair of rubber boots and slog out to The Mid Valley Basin and find out for yourself.

Pay homage to those who lived and died in Death Valley before our time by visiting the memorial on a hill in between The Inn At Death Valley and The Furnace Creek area just south of Texas Springs on a clear crisp December 2021 day with snow capped peaks surrounding.

Discovering a real treasure while exploring the basin west of Badwater Road in between The Inn and Golden Canyon at sunset-moonrise was Manly Beacon appearing as a gleaming white monolith signaling another Mother Nature light show. I got lost in time capturing as many compositions of the event possible before the show was over. This unusual view of Manly Beacon is not possible from the highway, one must hike westward about a half mile for the beacon to sneak above the golden hills.
