I’ll be curious to see how many designated sites there are and how far apart they are. If they’ve got them reasonably spaced out then I think this is definitely a good thing and will limit over crowding in those areas and hopefully better guarantee if you have a site you will have peace for the night. Honestly, Echo and Hole are ridiculously close to Furnace to be unregulated dispersed locations. I’ve been surprised it has lasted this long. Anyway, there are plenty of other spots not too horribly far away if you hate campgrounds.
Also, how recent is this? It certainly wasn’t in place back in May. I wonder with these roads closed by the flooding and the NPS already needing to regrade the routes if they are implementing this along with reopening the roads.
