Albatross Crash Site Revisited
#1
While researching a different plane crash I came upon what I believe is probably the best trip report ever published on the 1952 crash of a SA-16 Albatross (which was owned by the CIA) Near Towne Peak of which all the crew bailed out safely. This report has not only excellent photos but technical details as well.

This fellow, Joe Idoni did a masterful job on a lovely clear day documenting his efforts way back in April 2005. The shot he took of Telescope Peak through a hole in the aircraft is a classic. This hike is a bit of slog but well worth it on any loverly clear day. I got a way too late start in February 2016 and either didn't take any images or have lost them in data crashes since then so I was happy to come across Joe's excellent website.
