Quote:Contributing to the controversy was an incident that has come to be known as “pondgate”: K2 Gold was caught siphoning water out of a water hazard at Lone Pine’s Mount Whitney Golf Course into four 55-gallon tanks for use at its drilling sites up on the mesa.

Wow. Welcome to the neighborhood, guys.

Wow. Welcome to the neighborhood, guys.

The controversy over K2 has been ongoing news for the past couple years in the Bishop newspaper. Not much love for the project in Owens Valley. But there is also some interesting connections with local politicians.
