Darwin Cemetery & Shoshone Memorial

I was unaware that just outside Darwin, Ca exists a small cemetery containing the final resting locations of some Shoshone Native Americans amidst the more common markers of settlers and residents of this remote community and mining operation. In December 2021 I learned of this while chatting with a local resident at the Darwin, CA United States Post Office. From the USPO one can gaze south west over this tiny town and barely see the small rectangle boundary of this sacred memorial.
