We then went to Salt Creek and saw finally the pupfish!

Plus managed to see some lizards chilling instead of breaking the sound barrier.






It was monday afternoon and we where originally thinking of staying the next day. But we where very satisfied and missing our cats and a shower so decided to start heading back home to make it the next morning.
Glad we did because some serious wind picked up. Saw sand devils running around on the Searles valley.

We where exhausted at the end from all the travel and fun. But im so glad we had this mini trip to itch the scratch. Missed DV during 2020 so really needed more.


And thats me for the season. Will be back in the winter.

Enjoyed seeing what you actually did after our discussions, and I'm glad you got up the place we discussed and enjoyed the views. It's a pretty cool place, right? But now a register up there! And with the beta on Stav's site, and a Bob Burd TR (though he's got so so much, you need to know what you're looking for). Actually I should give myself a pat on the back for getting up there before Bob, he's a peak bagging animal!

Moonlight. Thanks for the reminder. It has been on the list for a few years and I haven't gone up yet. I think mostly because I don't want to have to decide between the bridge and the narrows further upstream, and I don't think we could make both in a day. I guess that suggests just going up and seeing one area and maybe coming back for the other some other year. Your photos are certainly inviting!

I've been away from my computer for a couple of weeks - what a delight to return to your trip report, Daymoth! The photos are such a treat for my mind, full of great colors and details, and your narrative sounds like you're there talking to us. Like you, I credit Kauri for the information for several of my recent hikes, and I'm glad if I helped too. Keep going and posting, please!
