The car I rented was from Hertz, and after a wait for something to appear at the rental station, it was a Nissan Rogue, brand new, with 6 miles on it. After each drive, it would offer to update the "best ever" fuel economy display. One day we went up to Towne and climbed Pinto. Upon reaching SPW it was showing 99.9 mpg. I did "OK" to make that the "high score" for the entertainment of future renters.

Ha! I had a brand new rental once. Was pretty cool to start fresh. When I went to DV for the whirlwind trip in October, I rented a Dodge Charger R/T which was fun to drive. It stored 0-60 times, among other things.

All that water is really beautiful, what a lovely sound in the desert.
Has it been flowing other times you've been in that canyon?

Yes, I will never forget the first time I hiked up there from Badwater on my failed first attempt to do Telescope when I first heard the sound after hiking all day (high was 106 at Furnace Creek). As I understand it, the water there is always flowing.
