Odd Artifact
#1
Moving on from some of the other drama on here to something much more dull:

Does anyone have any idea what this could have been part of?  It was found maybe 1/2mi from McLean Spring on the slope of a bench.

Doesn’t look automotive.  Possibly blacksmith made?   But I’m no expert on those sorts of things.

Looks to be cast rather than forged.
No idea what it is. Nice find.

Interesting find.  I cut out the object and did an image search on it.  Maybe an iron hook?  But that knobby bit sticking out on one side is strange.  Almost like it's supposed to insert into a matching hole and the object rotates around that point.  Or maybe it's just an artifact of the casting process.

You sure find the neatest stuff out there! I haven't a clue as to what it is or its purpose, but possibly associated with a wagon or early auto. And it appears to have weathered very well. Oh, and thanks for turning down the temperature ...  Cool

Dang. I was relying on DAW to solve this one for us .... I also tried doing the Google Image Search route and came up with some fun speculations, but nothing useful.
