Hey blackturtle, I believe that you may have forgotten your own documenting of the White Bear Poppy in the Hole In The Wall Wash near the Red Cathedral. I found this while cruising through your expansive web site just now.

Your location of the poppy is west and far below the ridge line where I discovered a small patch of the beauties.
This means that you have encountered the Bear Poppy at least twice in Death Valley, near the Hole in the Wall and in Corridor Canyon. It seems to be mostly seen in drainages and washes which makes my finding it atop a small flat spot high up on a ridge line more peculiar. I wonder why the bighorn sheep have not eaten them out of existence?
