The golfer who choses to remain anonymous drove his golf ball from the first hole at Furnace Creek nearly one mile west over the airport. He was unable to locate the now famous ball after searching all morning. However as luck would have it a hiker returning from The Tucki Wash happened upon the ball lodged in the salty mud about a quarter mile west of the airport runway and video taped the evidence and the experience. This golf ball is now believed to be the only one that has traveled from below sea level to above sea level and back down again.
A private airplane pilot happened to be landing at The Furnace Creek Airpot on this December 2021 morning and reported a small white unidentified flying object passing directly in front of his propeller. He assumed the object originated from nearby Area 51. Park rangers are attempting to contact officials of The Guinness Book of World Records to register the history making sporting event.
