I didnt know there was limestone and slate around DV. I thought it was all mud, conglomerate and volcanic rocks.

That trip report was from ski3pins, who posted above your request for trip reports. He and his wife travel prolifically throughout the Great Basin, including DV. That was their latest report. Another should be up at any time now as they were out in the Lee Flat area until last Sunday. His blog is extensive and goes back to 2009. His photography is beautiful.
