Just popped into Pahrump for supplies, and using the free WiFi in the Home Depot parking lot. I really appreciate this store. Anyway, as of yesterday the Beatty Cutoff was open (I drove it) with some gravel sections. As I drove east this morning, the road to Echo Canyon was being opened, and Hole in the Wall looked like it was already open. Daylight Pass was still closed last night when I returned from Beatty.

Last two days (Monday and Tuesday) were horribly windy, rainy and cold, but today looks gorgeous. The 49ers are in town and I went to one of their talks. They've had problems with their outdoor booths being blown down. Hope the weekend treats them better.

I learned a new term from one of my neighbors in Texas Springs: Type 2 fun. Type 1 fun is just fun, Type 2 isn't fun when it happens but you enjoy reminiscing about it. We were sharing stories of various mishaps.

On my way, over and out.

Both Daylight Pass/Beatty Cutoff should be open but Mud Canyon to SPW is still closed. Missed EC and HinW by two weeks! Oh well, back in late march.

There's also type 3 fun, which is not fun while you're doing it, and not fun to think about later. It's a tounge in cheek way of saying no fun at all.  Wink

Type 2 fun can easily turn into type 3 fun if there is a lack of preparation, planning, or maybe just bad luck. It's always good to remember type 3 fun is a possibility when planning a type 2 fun adventure.
