2024 peakbagging and other activities
#61
Nice man! That's a helluva haul of peaks for one trip into Eureka! Crazy number of peaks in a few days. What's your record?

I was forced into the center of the park Wed & Thurs and it was already completely nuts traffic wise.

The view of the dunes from 6960 is incredible. Dedekera is technically closed and NPS is a bit salty about people attempting it anyway right now. Especially this weekend as the Saline valley crowd struggles to find ways in.

No idea.   A lot depends on what is counted as a peak.  Maybe 10-12 in a week, of peaks higher than 300' prominence.  But that's just a guess.

On my way driving out from climbing 6960 there was a guy hiking up the road, towing a wagon of sorts behind him. He asked me how far I got and I explained I didn't drive far.  I'm guessing he's one of the "Saline valley crowd" struggling to find a way in.

I’ve never heard of the Saline Valley crowd hiking in. They bring too much beer.

What an awesome collection of peaks and beautiful weather. The snow is dramatic. You kicked some butt in there!

Low effort post incoming.  Some stuff I saw:

The White Cliffs of Death Valley.  Near Corkscrew.

Flying tax dollars north of Stovepipe on Friday morning.

A bit of nice canyon.  There's a small bridge on the left.  Grapevine Mountains.

That is all.

How big is that mini-bridge? Little Arches area?

Yup. A person could squeeze through if determined and didn't mind shredding their clothes.
