Thanks for the inside info on their forum – I try to avoid FB as much as possible (says the guy moderating a page or two).
And I'll second what DAW said, seems like some tension brewing but I'd reckon that's been a thing out West since at least the early 1800s. I get burned out and drop off of most forums after a while thanks to all the internet peacocking.

Be careful, there’s lots of Saline forum members lurking in here. Lol.
There’s always been drama in Saline Valley. There’s a great story about someone using a bulldozer to block south pass one year.

Just checked, Saline forum back online.
The tension I refer to is your typical newcomers who might be enthusiasts, that fill the threads with incessant questions, obviously without checking latest updates. They inquire ceaselessly if they can get substandard vehicles into the springs. And, like in a lot of backcountry places, there’s been an increase of irresponsibly. I think it’s a collision between the young and inexperienced irritating the not so young, responsible and had learned the hard way over decades of visiting the valley. And maybe a teensy bit of “this is my backyard, so get lost.”

Yeah, I wasn't able to get on yesterday. Wondered what was up with that. Just checked and still down. I've noticed some tension building in the past year between old timers and newbies, complaints that no one was donating, and wondered if they just tossed in the towel.
assuming we're talking about

its working for me, with new posts in the past hour.

I'm sure GG is on top of this already, but DV NPS reporting Lemoigne closed. Again.
Time to pull an audible and go get the truck & off-road trailer stuck in South Pass instead. Tell ’em the Lizard People sent yah.

NPS is only showing it closed because I went to check it out for GG and they had barricades up.
Took 20min on the phone for them to decide if there’s barricades up it must be closed and we’ll change the map.
I understand they’re juggling a lot of road issues but cmon.
HW is currently closed on the map and completely unsigned in person. Half dozen ppl camping and loads pushing through the water crossing anyway. I dunno.

Even listed under open roads. So I’m guessing they opened it?
If I can get back in there I’ll check.

Just ran Lemoigne Rd about 3mi in. It is indeed open.
I’m actually pretty pleased with what they did there. It’s repaired it a bit but not just entirely freshly bulldozed. They knocked down the big banks and the big dips but didn’t just bulldoze the entire thing into a huge trench. So I’m calling that a win for the current situation.
It’s still rough and rocky with very few places to overtake or turn around. It just had the gatekeepers in the first 3/4mi smoothed out.
It’s def still 4wd HC but I think a 4wd with small offroad trailer would be fine as long you don’t need to turn around randomly.
