Tuber Canyon Road
#1
While we were returning to Ballarat a couple days ago, we chatted with a few Jeepers who mentioned they were going to check out Tuber Canyon.  They didn't seem to have the build or the clothing to be headed on a hike, so I'm assuming they were planning on driving Tuber Canyon Road, which is listed as closed (maybe they didn't know that - I didn't until I looked later).  I gave it a scan on Google Earth and there does seem to be some man made stuff out there.  Anyone been up that road?  Worth the trip?

Was just thinking of driving up that road next week. It is marked as closed. Not sure why.
I assume that the "road closed" saw horses are at the split where the road to Wildrose splits off of Trona-Wildrose road. Maybe they don't want any traffic past that point.

I drove it probably a decade ago to where the road drops into a creek bed. 4WD IIRC; was in a friends old jeep. We hiked in from there. Yes there's lots of old mining sites if you continue on the old road (perhaps by foot). The road is cherry stemmed out of the wilderness area according to maps.
