This may surprise forum members but our very own GowerGulch42 is Death Valley's first official rock pick'n geologist. Proof is found in this vintage footage where he escaped treacherous conditions to locate a substantial water source eventually channeled to The Oasis. If I ever get lucky enough to personally meet GowerGulch42 I'm scoring his autograph now that he's famous.
